What We Offer
We have a comprehensive syllabus designed to suit all ages and levels. Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and lyrical. Our classes have a strong emphasis on Classical Ballet technique, using the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet syllabus - based on the Russian Vaganova Method. The ACB training and assessment program emphasises correct placement, dynamics and performance skills which are all qualities inherent to the Vaganova method.
Established in 2004
Glen Iris School of Dance offers classes for students as young as three years old through to our Half Day Intensive Training and Platform Year Programs. Students are offered the opportunity to sit annual examinations (Australian Conservatoire of Ballet Syllabus) and take part in our mid and end of year concerts, both staged at the Alexander Theatre. Selected students are also invited to participate in competitions and eisteddfods throughout the year.
Committed Teaching Staff
All of our staff are fully qualified ex-professional dancers with many years of performing experience and comprehensive teaching skills across both group and private coaching settings. At GISD we are committed to ensuring your child develops a love of dance in a nurturing and positive learning environment.
